With it's bold colour palette of racing green, yellow, black and chestnut brown 'Juno's Eye' is reminiscent of 1960's pop art. However it is not a critique of the fragility and emptyness of celebrity, as in Warhol's, but a reflection on the importance of 'the eye' as metaphor, myth and method by which we interpret 'reality". Is the eye in the artwork looking out, looking in, or a voyeur as the character in the 1960's cult film 'Peeping Tom'. The subject of "the eye' also has great prominence in early 20thc surrealism such as the films of Dali and Bunuel and the shocking novel 'The Story of the Eye' by Georges Bataille,
