Black Ice describes a dancer in metamorphosis to a magical form, wings made of shell and feather. This takes place in a frozen subterranean cave, warmed only by candlelight. The dancer's fingers, stark white spikes against the wall of the cave are illuminated by the fronds of feathered white light.
