“Luxury is when it seems flawless, when you reach the right balance between all elements. Understated theatricality – that is what my luxury is all about.”

1- Always remember the 3 colour rule

When we design our interiors and are busy buying home decor and accessories, we all have colours we like and subconsciously stick to. The rule of three colour palette is a great way to ensure that your interior flawlessly coheres and compliments each other. But remember, this doesn't mean you are limited. Using different variations within the same colour family maintains the theme and helps achieve the organised and luxurious aesthetic.

Tip- The colours should contrast but still work and integrate well within the interior.

2- Wall panelling

Panelling your walls has got to be one of the hottest trends of 2024, not to mention that this simple hack has such a big impact on your walls and overall feel to a room. The design of panelling brings a custom luxe feeling, and is a great way to introduce elegance, luxury and attention. Walls have the biggest impact, I mean they are what make a room! Using panelling dates all the way back to the 16th century where they were featured in manor houses, and to this day they still never fail to bring luxury to any space.

Tip- Panelling wallpaper is a great way to accomplish the look without the labour.

3- Oversized pillows

Pillows may seem like such a little feature, but they bring balance and hygge to your furnishings. A good rule of thumb to refer to, is to use the ratio of 2:2:1. This scale creates a descending position towards the middle, bringing luxury and cosiness.

Top Tip- Duck feather pillows are the most luxe filling for a pillow and are also the easiest to mould.

4- Accent Metallic Pieces

Metallic features such as brass tables are a must have to create a deluxe interior. Metallic accent pieces are like jewelry, you don’t want to overload the room with gold, brass and silver as it overpowers every other piece of furniture and decoration. We suggest using 3-4 accent pieces for bigger rooms and 1-2 for smaller rooms, although don’t be held back, if you want to go for more and that's your style then go for it!

5- Bin the packaging

When trying to achieve a glamorous interior, the one thing that can really unbalance the aesthetic is a big fairy washing up liquid bottle. Depending on what your rule of 3 colours are, go for a colour that feeds into the colour of your home. Bottling up your products makes your sides look more coordinated and luxe.

6- Signature Wall art

Art work has been a statement of luxury for hundreds of years, and it will not die out any time soon. Investing in a luxurious piece of wall art will uplift your space and create a focal point in the room. Wall art speaks volumes and sets the tone of your interior.

Tip- Go big or go home! Always go for a big wall art, this will be the centre piece, the star act of the room.

7- Scents

Scents are never the first thing that comes to mind when you think of luxury, but it is something you should always remember. A scent should integrate with the interior and create a memorable experience, it also brings a sense of cleanliness and makes a statement without you even knowing it, but trust me, the guests will. choose a scent you want associated with your home.

Tip- never over complicate- choose 1-2 scents for the house, and try not to mix the smells.
