Theft Framed Print by Himitsuhana
This surreal portrait photography art print displays a curios scene of birds either morphing from or into the hair of a serene young women, very often included in the works of Himitsuhana. The portrait, birds aside, is largely regular but the surrealism is brought in by the presence of the obscure birds and the mystique behind the purpose and the lack of acknowledgement from the young women. We ask ourselves, as we very often do and as is the purpose of much of Himitsuhanas work, are the surroundings a manifestation of her own, a visual metaphor for her inner mind or a reflection of her character.
Himitsuhana started research in photography in 2007. She investigates the inner relation between photography and painting, and takes inspiration from the Pre-Raphaelites painters and Liberty style. She has worked as designer for storybooks, fashion and entertainment sectors. "I believe that photography is more than technique, it is more than having an expensive equipment. I am deeply convinced that photography (the way it means to me) is not the camera, it is the eye that stands behind the camera. My aim is to portray every single glance of the human soul and encourage people to dream and never stop believing in dreams."
