Comedy wall art is not something our lovely followers are unfamiliar with, in fact Kirin is one of our more prominent exponents of this with his extremely popular artwork series ‘The Bubblegum Collection’. The Tongue collection isn’t entirely unlike the Bubblegum collection. Taking traditional pre 18th century portraits and maintaining their grand formal aesthetic but injected some fun by the simple use of poking the tongue out. Lady with Tongue Out 2 shows a very regal and formally dressed woman directly looking at you the viewer and poking her tongue at you, a very tongue in cheek wall art you might say.
Kirin Young is a graphic designer and artist based in Bangkok, Thailand.
He says the best thing about his job “Working on jobs that are never the same, seeing and collecting new ideas and inspiring thoughts from working with a variety of personalities. To get inspired, he travels extensively, going to new places and seeing new things, old things and all sorts of different things, cultures, experiences and art. When working Kirin utilises photography, considering all sorts of things, lighting, angles and shadows combined with some photo editing to create a believable and fun image.
