This grey rug design is a new addition to the Mineheart designer rug collection. Called Asylum 22, it is based on an artwork by Furio Brigo, an Italian photographer.
Furio is fascinated by the photography of abandoned places. The building featured on this grey rug was previously a mental hospital. Once a very ornate, historical building, it has become something altogether more spooky and haunting, partly through its abandonment and partly due to its prior purpose.
Photographing forgotten places is part of a new movement called Urbex - urban exploration. It creates very powerful and emotional images that resonate with those of us who admire architecture and the built environment.
Other unique rugs on sale in this collection by Furio Brigo include Asylum 2 and In Nomine Patris - both equally moving designs that will transform any space. And these beautiful unique rugs are surprisingly practical. This grey rug has a non-slip rubber backing, and as it has been digitally printed on an acrylic materia, it is both hardwearing and washable.
Don’t forget that all Mineheart designs are customisable. Need this rug in a larger size or a different shape? Just get in touch and we’ll explore how to make it totally perfect for you.
